Jesus was clear about treating people justly & loving thy neighbor. The gop motto of, "Let's round people up & imprison them without due process," is about racism.

If hearing that upsets someone who claims to be Christian, then it sounds like their real problem is with Jesus 😇.

This is worth 3 minutes of your time. No one wants to eat at a restaurant that only serves bland chicken. (It’s not about chicken, or restaurants, tho)

The predominant emotion for me as I watch the systematic destruction of science, evidence based health care guidelines, and the spread of misinformation and disinformation on vaccines in the U.S. is overwhelming sadness.
There's rage too but I am mostly deeply sad about all that is being lost.

When a government starts by stripping rights from a vulnerable group, it’s not the end goal—it’s the opening move. What’s tested on the marginalized today is used on everyone else tomorrow.

Public health is being hit with job and funding cuts at every level. This could leave Americans vulnerable to infectious diseases.
How U.S. public health cuts could raise risks of infectious diseases
Deep funding cuts and widespread layoffs impact everything from local public health outreach to global disease surveillance, making us more vulnerable, experts warn.

If you know anything about #PublicHealth then you understand that this administration is literally killing people, and not just abroad by closing USAID, but right here at home. Unfortunately it may take years to see the effects, but they never cared about scientists or research in the first place.

I am currently researching Lesotho for a project in one of my #MPH classes about evaluating global health programs because it has the highest suicide rate of any country in the world. Driving the population further into poverty will literally kill them.

"Pausing" scientific research is like "pausing" a car in the middle of the highway—it's liable to have catastrophic, long-term effects that restarting it won't fix.

I never imagined people’s health and wellbeing would be so blatantly under attack. More motivated than ever to step up and support #publichealth once I graduate. ⚕️💪🏻

I’m working on my capstone project for my MPH degree and at least 1 in 5 links I try to access for evidence-based research is a 404 error, almost always a government site. I never thought I’d live in a country where I don’t have access to the knowledge I need.

I read an article by @annhandley.bsky.social about Meta (and others) using creatives work to power AI without compensation. As someone that uses AI every day, I never considered it. I can’t even look at an article or a book online without paying for it, but companies can suck it all in for free? 🤔

How are you not freaking out about the attack on reproductive freedom, banned books, removal of anything DEI or LGBTQIA+, arresting political dissidents, pushing to cancel public media, ruining public health, making it harder to vote, and on and on? I have anxiety 24/7. Why are people so hateful?

Can you imagine if your private sector organization treated its employees like this? Tried to run a business with haphazard firing of half the workforce. The uproar. The breakdown. Yet we are fine with it when it’s gov’t workers bc the media has made the inner workings of gov’t the enemy.
These park rangers oversaw Florida’s only manatee refuge. Then they were fired.
The Trump administration’s sweeping cuts to the federal workforce are impacting the only national refuge created specifically for threatened manatees.
