Ontario’s universities have the lowest per-student funding of any province in Canada. The provincial government can address this embarrassing gap by funding our universities at $11.75 for the next 5 years.

Today, OCUFA is meeting with Ontario MPPs to discuss the serious threats facing our education sector. Ontario provides its universities with the lowest amount of total provincial funding per-domestic full-time equivalent (FTE) student in Canada, and it’s not close.

Bill 33 threatens the autonomy and quality of Ontario’s public colleges and universities. Instead of fixing chronic underfunding, it adds red tape and gives the government more control. We are calling on MPPs in Peterborough and Durham to oppose or amend Bill 33 and protect public education.
