It’s crazy to think about but the reason why Disneyland has the frontier aesthetic all over the park is because, in the same way that people are nostalgic for and idealize the 1950s now, people in the 50s were nostalgic for the late 1800s.

The Cybertruck is the vehicle equivalent of Cards Against Humanity. It’d be cool if there was just one, but instead you’re pretending to be cool with an off-the-shelf thing that 1000s of other people have an identical copy of. Like how you pretend to be funny in CAH by saying someone else’s jokes.

Bluesky seems to have a weird algorithm. I keep seeing posts of people talking about their dreams. Like I saw one post where someone was talking about a dream, and now for several days I just see nothing but posts about peoples’ dreams.

In 2017 I worked at an office, and in the lobby there was a big tv that was always set on the news. Every day I walked by it, whatever was playing on it always reminded me of a tv on in the background of a scene in Robocop. I think a lot of people forgot about that.
