Seriously chuffed to be a finalist in the @travwriters.bsky.social BGTW Members' Excellence Awards. My @theguardian.com feature on food and wine in Samoëns made the shortlist for best specialist feature. I'm up against stiff competition, but it's wonderful to be shortlisted.

Incredible journey yesterday with Yellowhead Helicopters over Mount Robson (Yexyexéscen) Provincial Park. At 3,954m this is the most prominent mountain in the Rockies.

Historically on the 🇮🇲 Isle of Man the main fish caught was herring, since they ran in shoals off the coast.

🐟 Some of the herrings are also preserved by smoking, making the famous Manx kippers. #IOMStory #BGTW
