Mostly music. An Albertan. Dig it.
Me and my pals have a solstice party every year. Friday is the night!

From St. Albert, Alberta!

Baylis talked about military R&D, ha.

You couldn't pay me to get on a plane in the US right now.

Hank Williams’ version is gorgeous, too.

I’m definitely not suggesting ignoring it.

For the record, similar offices were created under George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

However, in Outlook, Copilot > the native search function, which I think we can all agree has always been surprisingly and totally useless.

Oh man, I’ve learned so much using AI. Try writing system prompts for assistants you instruct to have specializations in language or code or music theory or whatever (it’s infinite). make them teachers or advisors or whatever. For me, it’s been the most incredible learning tool.

No, I’m parsing out AI use cases and saying there’s a spectrum of offenders. A chat bot’s use ≠ the use by a scaled enterprise solution. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I’m saying you’re zeroing in on a minuscule, fractional contributor to a real and much larger problem, so in that sense, it’s unfair to single it out. That’s all.

So does BlueSky and anything tied to data centers. It’s an inescapable reality, so a bit unfair to single out lowly chat bots. Cleaner energy is the solution. Also, better energy efficiency. Lots of data centers get built in Canada because you have natural cooling 6 months of the year.

Pretty much all chat bots are flow charts. They follow choice-based scripts, like a choose-your-own-adventure story. They’re fun to build, actually.

I remember the free trade debate in the late ‘80s. When NAFTA came into effect, it was a dramatic and rapid change from a retail consumer perspective. And so all the warnings about free trade were quickly forgotten.

Literally no one asked for this. What an insanely stupid, malicious state of affairs. Even after this is over, I’m not buying American.

It’s the engine of survival, after all.

Make a pro/con list! I’ll consider your argument.

Good to be back, and to see you! The other place got pretty wild… I’m still on there, mostly out of curiosity to see where it goes… but this joint is better aligned with the kinds of conversations that bring me joy, which includes conversations about the Beach Boys!

I know exactly what you mean. Still, I always listen to it. 😀

I love The Lonesome Crowded West. 1997 was a great year for Modest Mouse.
