I’m an American expat living in Germany. Decided to flee what used to be Twitter. It’s ok if we have different opinions, it’s not ok if we try to minimize each other over our differences.

Fuck you apple for siding with big brother and removing the #eyesup app. You’re not only complicit in this trump regime, you’re now actively helping it.

Just in case someone missed this detail:
Wells Fargo used the ICE orks to clear out a building of lawful residents to make a buck

Again, a military terror purge was carried out with naked children in handcuffs for the benefit of Wells Fargo execs

A corrupt corp that will bleat at any reciprocity

The building is in a 27 million dollar foreclosure filed by Wells Fargo. The next day, Wells Fargo filed an emergency motion for receivership. The fascist regime kindly emptied the building for donor Wells Fargo.
Federal Agents Storm South Shore Building, Detaining Families and Children
Families were woken by flashbangs and helicopters as hundreds of federal agents raided their homes. Days later, neighbors are still searching for the missing.

Today’s unsigned, unexplained #SCOTUS ruling clearing the way for removals of migrants to third countries without any additional process is a disaster—not just on the merits, but because of the government misbehavior that it not only refuses to punish, but effectively rewards.

Me, via “One First”:
161. The Court's Disastrous Ruling in the Third-Country Removal Case
The majority did not just greenlight an especially odious immigration policy without any explanation; it did so in a case in which the government defied the district court—twice—with no consequence.

Reading through all of the news, and knowing personally people close to me who surprisingly voted for trump, I can’t help but feel that this was what the start of the Third Reich in Germany in the 1930’s looked and felt like. I can’t believe this is really happening. This feels like a bad dream.

I grew up for a large part of my adolescence in metro Detroit, and have close ties to Canada. As an American, I am so ashamed and sorry for my government’s decisions. Let’s please stay friends and get a beer over the Wings Leafs rivalry when this is all done in 4 years.

Trump backed GOP into a big corner with his “balanced budget” point.

The ONLY way House GOP could even think about upholding their “no cuts to Medicaid” swing seat promises and their spending cut mandates is deficit spending and bad math.

Now they have to gut Medicaid & hand it to Elon in public.

Where are the “but her emails” people now? Strangely silent.
Top Dem on the House Intel Committee Jim Himes says in a statement that he understands that the White House “insisted” on the CIA transmitting the list in an unclassified email
New via NYT — The CIA sent the White House an unclassified email listing all employees hired by the spy agency over the last two years to comply with an executive order to shrink the federal work force. One former agency officer called the reporting of names a “counterintelligence disaster.”

Scarier still is the new precedent of “normal” which has been put in place. I worry that far worse is still to come, and not from trump but a future person emboldened by his actions.
"Trump is... not a strong president. He is a weak president. He has authoritarian tendencies, but he’s weak. He’s mentally weak. He is subject vulnerable to all sorts of manipulation by his aides. He tries to do all sorts of contradictory things."

Transcript: Trump’s Chaos Strategy Is Already Blowing Up in His Face
An interview with New Republic writer Timothy Noah, who argues that Trump’s funding-freeze fiasco shows that he’s a “weak president” whose vaunted “chaos strategy” is already running into trouble.

Every inspector general who Trump unlawfully fired must remain in their positions until the courts order them to leave.

Trump is both appointing unqualified flunkies and trying to eliminate any form of accountability.

Senate Republicans can stop him by rejecting Kash Patel.
