Grew these Quincy Pinto beans from the Snake River Seed Coop this summer. Really creamy and delicious.

Huge props to the organizers of the #Boise #Idaho #NoKings rally! And the probably thousands 2? 3? of citizens who participated. Beautifully done!

The (maybe) last of the strawberries from the garden this year.

You inspired an apple tasting. Wish we had as many varieties as you have. Even if they’re bad.

Digging the pomology vibe on bluesky and bought Envy, Ambrosia, Golden Tango and Cosmic Crisp from the Boise Coop for a fam tasting. The winner was Cosmic Crisp. Runner up was Tango which is a great baking apple and made an excellent crisp.

Brought the firefly petunias indoors for the winter. Late sunsets and light pollution didn’t make these a stunner. Don’t know anything about genetically modifying fluorescent mushrooms with flowering plants, but think the concept would work better for shade plants like impatiens or indoor plants.

Usually go to the Boise DMV but they didn’t have appointments when I needed so went to Meridian. Total upgrade. They have Sunflower Bakery next door, a Ukrainian Bakery, and got to try Kiev cake for the first time. Upgrade.

Thrillers/Horror/Mysteries soothe my anxiety. Chuck Tingle is such a talented storyteller with a unique perspective and imagination. Definitely one of my new (for me) favorite authors. Just finished Lucky Day and recommend it. Also, Bury Your Gays and Camp Damascus are worth checking out. #booksky

Advent Gulch Blue corn (from Snake River Seeds Coop) #Idaho. Grew it, harvested it, ground it, made it into cornbread. Did a small row and got about two and a half cups of flour. Definitely makes me appreciate farmers & their breadth of knowledge. Check out alt text for history of the corn variety.

Tylenol/Acetaminophen isn’t just a pain relieve, it’s an excellent antipyretic (breaks fevers). So are these people suggesting not only exposing preventable diseases, but suffering their side effects? It’s morbid.

Post a movie you like with a terrible rotten tomatoes score.
(Great soundtrack too.)

After doomscrolling, sometimes I imagine all the weirdos screwing everything up in the world having a collective Ebenezer Scrooge/St Francis of Assisi/Siddhartha Gautama moment that helps usher an era of dharma. #caturday

Black River Orchard by Chuck Wendig is the autumnal horror story you want to read this fall. Haven’t had my tastebuds triggered through story since a Ruth Reichl binge. Though, not always in a good way. 😂 History, horticulture, humanity, humor and horror. Wendig nailed it. #booksky

The Carolinas are awfully purdy. It’s amazing how beautifully diverse our country is in all the ways.

If you’re in the Asheville (or now Charlotte) area, the LaZoom Tours are very fun and funny. We all need to laugh to keep from crying right now. Wish we had one in Boise. www.lazoomtours.com

About a third of the way through of The End of the World As We Know It: New Tales of Stephen King’s The Stand, it’s such a great collaboration. If you’re a The Stand fan, you’ll love this.
