Scholar in Translation Studies.

A bit too obsessed in “seeing Translation Studies as the intellectual centre of the universe”, as I was warned.
As #EST2025 kicks off today, I also become part of @lcsleeds.bsky.social as one of the visiting research fellows for the coming year. How nice.

My talk at the University of Hong Kong mainly problematises the “map” that has governed the knowledge management in Translation Studies for so long. In short, the map presupposes the inherent power of mastery and the linearity of network. I propose a more dynamic and complex mapping of meshworks.

My presentation on APTIS: I use 'serendipity' to critic the linear and product-oriented translation. Drawing upon Ingold's Meshwork, I reconsider a process-oriented epistemology. I also appropriate Eco's Open Text and Model Reader to reflect upon the mutual selection between text and translator.
