Last weekend, a passerby noticed a dog locked in a vehicle that was parked in New Westminster. It was 22°C, but with the car in direct sunlight, the temperature inside was much higher. The dog was in obvious distress.

Driver thought he’d made a clean getaway from a roadblock back in May. But he ran into the Transit Police Enforcement Team at Scott Road Station yesterday with several violations, including open alcohol & cannabis and having no insurance, to add to the ones from May. $2,531 in fines & vehicle towed.

#DidYouKnow at Transit Police we'll be celebrating our 20th anniversary as a police department later this year. But our history actually reaches back to 1890 when the British Columbia Electric Railway first employed Watchmen. They were our predecessors in keeping transit safe.
