2/ I want to live in a world where it is totally normal to call someone by their name (or nickname, or surname) - seeing them respectfully as a person - regardless of gender identity. In contexts where a larger group is introducing themselves to each other, specifying pronouns seems preferable.

1/ Dear Dr. Winnicki, thank you so much for your interesting photos and anecdotes. If you are leading the walk, my feeling is addressing you as Dr. Winnicki is the appropriate and respectful starting point, although you might offer people to feel free to call you by your given name (SK, etc).
