Most of my biscuits get eaten, but I hung on to this one.

The flavour is orange, cardamom, and vanilla, and the design was painted by hand onto royal icing using food colouring gels and vodka.

Today is National Biscuit Day, and it’s about time that I populated this account with biscuit (cookie) sets from the past few years. Here are some of my favourites. 🧵

First up, a set inspired by the delicious designs of William Morris and John Henry Dearle.

On the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, we thought we'd answer a question that's often asked,

"If they raised the Mary Rose, why not raise the Titanic?"

This exquisite example has to be the smallest Valentine card we have in our collection. It was sent to Thomas Crofts of Belper (1815-1904), a poet, by his wife Martha. A collection of his work was published in 1892 as 'A Castle in the Air and other Poems'.

This! Please please please include as much info as you can when labeling your photos. Full name + date is great; location is also helpful. We have so many photos with limited use because they are unlabeled.

Just one of the many amazing LGBT stories from the archive I work at! If you're local to Liverpool, pop along on the 27th February to visit and get your hands on our material (or book an appointment anytime!) ☺️🌈🌟
Two notable figures in our collections are Fanny and Stella, known by their legal names Park and Boulton.
Although the pair performed theatrically as 'female impersonators,' Stella in particular also privately lived as a woman w/ her husband 🧵1/6

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.
