The universe is under no obligation to make sense to you. What did we know of gravity before Newton? Evolution before Darwin? Relativity before Einstein?

Will interstellar travel be possible in the next couple centuries? No. But, say, TEN THOUSAND YEARS from now? I wouldn’t bet against it.
