The Horny Good is my first "adult" story. To me, "adult" means to be free in spirit, to know no bounds, to accept no moral restrictions, especially those imposed by somebody else. Only the artist himself can impose his own restrictions, and therefore assume full responsibility for his art. That is what it means to be an "adult". I believe that to become an "adult" is ultimately the only way for a comic artist not to become bored to death. If you have to draw the same characters day after day, with the same faces, the same costumes, if you can't express anything personal, if you have to illustrate the same stories, often given to you by people you don't know or don't respect, you can very well go mad, or start drinking in order to compensate, or maybe even kill yourself. It's a nightmare. The only way to stay alive is to stay fresh and have fun doing what you're doing. Regarding the use of sex and violence in "adult" comics, I would first remark that sex and violence should not be intrinsically taboo for adult readers. There are ways for even sex and violence to be portrayed in rich and, I would say, moral ways. I mean, in ways that are not shocking but that can help in spiritual growth and development. I agree that, more often than not, sex and violence are portrayed in negative ways - especially sex, because as a society, we tend to have more problems with it - but it doesn't have to be that way. I, for one, have strived to express both in the former. Sometimes, I see books which are not good because they exploit the violence and sex in ways that I think are disgusting. Usually, I don't buy these books or read them. But if I do, I see the sickness in the mind of the artist who drew them and I feel compassion for him. I may even understand what problems he has that made him choose to express himself that way. Because I firmly believe that if somebody has a problem with sex and violence in a comic book, the problem is not in teh comic book but in the person who is reading it. If someone didn't already have problems with his own sexuality or violent nature, he couldn't be harmed by the existence of that book. On the other hand, if he does have a problem, then he will see that problem reflected in the book, which is, of course, what he cannot stand. He'll become furious, and even call the law. When you have a problem you don't want to face, the fear is very powerful and can make you want to fight and behave in crazy ways.

Payment processors should not be able to dictate what kind of content is allowed in a store or website. The idea that they can step in and cancel a purchase because a character isn't wearing pants is baffling.

If I want to interact with a piece of media, it's my choice, not a payment processor's.

I saw an infographic a couple years ago about how to remove source identifiers from links and why it's important, but I can't find it again and too many people I know are sending me links with them so here's an infographic straight from the oven
Header text: "HEY YOU! YES YOU! TAKE THIS SHIT OUT OF LINKS!" This is followed by a couple example urls, with a red square highlighting the sections with source identifiers. The rest of the text is as follows: Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use, and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the url or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity. When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connected. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers. Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the "?" symbol can be removed without issue, especially sections starting with "si=" or "utm_source="

Statement from Tristan Kern de Gonzales Husband of Jonathan Joss My husband Jonathan Joss and I were involved in a shooting while checking the mail at the site of our former home. That home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who repeatedly told us they would set it on fire. We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done. Throughout that time we were harassed regularly by individuals who made it clear they did not accept our relationship. Much of the harassment was openly homophobic. When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw. While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired. Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life. Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds. We picked Valentines Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future. He was murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other. I was with him when he passed. I told him how much he was loved. To everyone who supported him, his fans, his friends, know that he valued you deeply. He saw you as family. My focus now is on protecting Jonathan’s legacy and honoring the life we built together. If your concern is how someone coped with trauma or how loudly they speak when recounting injustice and being ignored by authorities then you never truly cared about my husband. Jonathan saved my life. I will carry that forward. I will protect what he built. Tristan Kern de Gonzales

Before ROSENBAUM, ABUDU, and TJOFLAT, Circuit Judges. ROSENBAUM, Circuit Judge: Justice Potter Stewart famously offered a non-definition of obscenity: "I know it when I see it." Jacobellis v. Ohio, 378 U.S. 184, 197 (1964) (Stewart, J., concurring). Many know Justice Stewart's quip. But it's not, in fact, the law. The Constitution demands specificity when the state restricts speech. Requiring clarity in speech regulations shields us from the whims of government censors. And the need for clarity is especially strong when the government takes the legally potent step of labeling speech "obscene." An "I know it when I see it" test would unconstitutionally empower those who would limit speech to arbitrarily enforce the law. But the First Amendment empowers speakers instead. Yet Florida's Senate Bill 1438 (the "Act") takes an "I know it when I see it" approach to regulating expression. The Act prohibits children's admission to "live performances" that Florida considers obscene for minors. But by providing only vague guidance as to which performances it prohibits, the Act wields a shotgun when the First Amendment allows a scalpel at most. And Florida's history of arbitrarily enforcing other, similar laws against USCA11 Case: 23-12160 Document: 82-1 Date Filed: 05/13/2025 Page: 3 of 127 23-12160 Opinion of the Court 3 performances that are far from obscene only deepens our concerns. We therefore hold that the Act is likely unconstitutional on its face and affirm the lower court's injunction against its enforcement.
