My watercolour of a path through Artist's Valley overlooking the Dyfi valley in West Wales, based on a photo by my friend Mary who lives near there.
A rocky path between two stone walls with a grassy verge, towards the end of the lane are several trees with boughs curving over the path like a leafy arch. There are hills and more trees in the distance.

St Mary's harbour on Scilly, a hazy summer day on my holiday there in August. The larger red boat is Seahorse, operated by the St Mary's Boatman Association to the other inhabited islands. The island you can see is Bryher.

Here's my acrylic painting of the beach huts at Hampton near Herne Bay in a pop art style. I love bright colours and it takes pride of place on my living room wall!

I enjoyed doing my watercolour of Cow and Calf Rocks on Ilkley Moor this week. I hope you like it too!
Large limestone crag with a larger rock at the right end (the cow) and a smaller rock to the right of that on the ground (the calf). There is a blue sky with a few clouds, and in front of the rocks is green rugged moorland with a small boulder in the foreground.

My latest watercolour, this time of Bishops Rock Lighthouse. I hope you enjoy it!
The tall white Bishops Rock Lighthouse, located south west of The Isles of Scilly, built on small rock with deep blue seas and royal blue skies. There is a helipad on the top and several windows down the tower, the lowest of which is connected to the base with a series of metal rungs built into the wall.

Had a lovely short break near Appledore in Kent with some friends. Did some painting and visited Gusbourne vineyard, as well as using the hot tub and eating, drinking and being merry!

Decided to spend a day doing some watercolour painting, plus also made a quinoa, jalapeno, feta and lime pilaf. I consider this to be a successful day!
A white pub building (Old Neptune, Whitstable) sits on the beach, with wooden groynes running into the sea, blue sky with a few clouds, and some green plants growing through the sand. Based on a photo I took this summer. This is the pub used as 'the local' in the Whitstable Pearl TV series. A shingle beach with turquoise sea (with a couple of people stood near the sea) and a dark blue moody sky. Based on a photo I found on Bluesky, but I can't remember who it's by or where it was taken. Apologies for the lack of attribution, but also thanks to the photographer!

I was in Hastings last weekend for a short break staying very near the pier. The weather was a bit more iffy last Saturday and Sunday but I did do a painting which I enjoyed doing anyway. I also saw a cheese shop in Old Town and thought of your previous daily posts! I loved my stay!

Been busy doing more watercolour course projects, and have finished these today. Pretty pleased with my progress, but still more practice required!

Will never compete with the birding skills of @captainlibatron.bsky.social but here is a black bird currently chilling on the guttering of my Airbnb. There are numerous other birds (out of sight) having a massive and loud 'chat' and they have been so for 45 mins so far. Must have been at the gin.

I've had quite a creative spurt recently, and completed my most recent painting in 4 days (a record!). This is Rye Castle (Ypres Tower) in East Sussex, acrylic media on shallow box canvas, based on a photo I took in March 2025.

I finished my latest painting this week, really pleased with how it turned out! This is the Old Lighthouse in Dungeness and I took the base photo in March this year on a glorious sunny day. Acrylic on box canvas.
