I told my kids the best part of them moving out was I could go back to walking around the house naked and it did NOT go over well.

amen amen amen. Same with Cinemark. We have one independent theater but they can only show so much. Often good movies are there for just one week. I managed to see Sinners and Frankenstein and that's about it.

I've heard of many of them. Only 2 have been in theaters anywhere near me. I live in a mid-sized city.

It would be lovely if more than 2 of these actually played in theaters outside a handful of cities

I still bake cookies with my daughter, though now it waits until she gets home from college. This year my 23 yr old son asked if he and his partner can come Christmas tree shopping with us then make us dinner. its still pretty f*ckin magic.

proud to say my college student daughter took one look at the essay (and the assignment) and said that's not an essay, that's a bad blog post. F.

And do I feel the slightest sympathy for the little shite? nope. wanna see him squirm.

just saw video of Rubio leaning in and talking to him while his head falls back and his eyes are closed. What are people like Rubio thinking in that moment?

he really seems oddly obsessed with people wearing "pajamas."

I was just saying this today. My daughter is happily being engaged in a robust education at UofT, far from all this crap.

Silent night and silver bells. Just because they were my mom's favorites

That was my reaction. Lots if repetitive blather to fill up the word count without actually talking about the article.

I had it as a kid. Nearly died. My volunteer firefighter dad saved my life. Have had lung problems my whole life. This is not something to f around with.

My response to the articles about how "ai" can choose your wardrobe, plan your dinner, read to your kids, write thank you notes to your grandma, etc etc....how did we ever survive before?? (Followed by, are grown assed adults too stupid to do those things with their own brains?)

yup. we are called on the carpet if more than 20% of students get below a C. That includes students who drop the class for family, financial, personal or whatever reason.
November 29, 2025 at 10:15 PM
I agree about the polarization. I have students who don't show up, don't do the reading, don't participate in any group work or discussions, don't even do the assignments and others who are so engaged and on it, they make my day every day. In the same class.

my students responded to administrators' talking about teaching ethical use of AI by responding that there is no ethical way to use AI because of its unethical basis (training on work product of others with no compensation) and environmental problems. I was so proud.
November 29, 2025 at 10:02 PM
the american historical association put out some BS report on how to use AI in the history classroom. I could not find one single positive response to it.

I grade a lot of not very bright student papers and this one is not even up to those standards. Why is always the not very good students who do the most whining.
