Your intelligence is not proof of your specialness: It's proof that your brain buys its own propaganda.

FYI...

• Pedophilia = prepubescent children
• Hebephilia = early pubescent / barely nubile
• Ephebophilia = older adolescents

All variations of what normal people call pedophila.

The power, experience and control factors of human experience make any sexual interaction between adults and young people very troubling. In our society, we call anyone who likes sex with young people pedophiles. These assholes are trying to mitigate Trump's guilt with sheer pedantry. Disgusting.

Over the course of the day I keep comparing the sides of those two equations.

Human moral judgement v God moral judgement, and

Doing Gods will v Accepting Christ as you savior.

I often think of the New Testament as V2, the easier, market tested morality.

Mitvot v Faith.

All so interesting.

Oh. Wait. I get your point.

You are distinguishing the Christian idea that the only thing that matters is if you take Jesus into your heart.

Doing every single righteous thing matters not at all if you don't do that.

And being a genocidal maniac doesn't matter if you do.

I read once that somebody analyzed his writing and claimed to be able to detect signs of such a thing. Apparently, atypical neurology shows patterns in language.

My rabbi once called him a "self-hating Jew" and wondered about the trauma that caused him to hate his heritage.

That, I understood. My (apparently badly stated) point is that the dichotomy of 'derived from God' vs 'human law' goes back to Genesis.

I claim that putting on clothes was an example of a human making a 'law', ie, a moral imperative on their own.

God was pissed because he hadn't said it first.

Going back to Genesis, God hates it when people make moral judgements of their own. Remember how pissed God was when people decided nakedness was bad. Impossible to interpret except as “only *my* rules are valid. Yours are abomination.”

The dichotomy isn’t false. It’s real and one side is ugly.

I suppose I have a state, a session analog that lets me connect events but so do lots of animals.

I really doubt that consciousness is a thing. I just think we are animals that have a bigger LLM.
November 9, 2025 at 6:28 AM
I, OTOH, largely think consciousness is an illusion, like deja vu. I have a hallucination that the “I” that notices things has more existence than the sense of hunger that I share with my dog.

I didn't notice until one day I realized that every time I stopped at the grocery and had half a hand basket full of stuff it cost me fifty bucks unless it was only veggies. Then it was only twenty(!!!).

I don't know what it cost before but I definitely didn't think, WTF?

I met a person who did this. A very nice guy and a very successful one. He had lots of of side businesses, too.

When his kids got old enough, he would talk about how he taught them to run their business of selling water outside the farmers' market.

Blocked me when Trump arrived. I am too strident

I think of this every time I read the phrase, AGI. As if you could have real intelligence without hormones and neuro- chemicals. Fat chance.
November 8, 2025 at 2:03 PM
I would use this. It's rude to expect to talk to me and force me not to talk back.

It used to be that 'viewpoint discrimination' was fundamentally disallowed in government function. Now, they can use government resources to destroy anyone who thinks anything they don't like. That's what tyranny means.

I wonder how much in legal fees he spent on his no longer paycheck.

The government can screw you whenever it wants. That's what tyranny means.

Seems reasonable that we might do the sort of verbal logic intellect subset but there are a lot of other things that brains do that are part of intelligence.

I shaved my beard.

The word 'fiat' in 'fiat currency' means fiat.

Scrolling not reading. The upper case GOD caught my eye. I spent a moment trying to imagine how you were posting during all this climaxes and thinking congratulatory thoughts. I admit a small bemusement when the rest of the thread clarified the situation.

I stopped following grammar rules long ago. For me all prose is poetry. However, I also realize that the end of a sentence is a special place. One should make certain that the word at the end is the one that is the one that contributes most to the meaning. The best word is rarely a preposition.
