They can also be handmade out of wood. I went to the Swiss “eBay” called Ricardo and there are alot for sale, but some are very expensive because they are handcrafted. www.ricardo.ch/de/c/masken-...

So if you are celebrating in Switzerland then it’s like Halloween so you can really be whatever you want. If you want one like in the parades, then they are usually handmade. The masks are typically made with plaster of Paris. These groups usually work together to make their costumes.
