Agreed. The frustrating thing to me was that Coates was clearly saying “it is my job to yell at you, and that is not an impediment to you and the people who you listen to winning power, the opposite in fact, please use this gift I am giving to you.” And Ezra being too in his feelings to get it.

It’s true that the bigger obstacles to implementing the policies are big liberal nonprofits, but the leftists are much bigger assholes about it online, so yimbys tend to mood affiliate with and court the libs instead. Perhaps there is a lesson to be learned here.

Dissenting opinion: I booked mine in advance, and regretted it because it turned into a scramble in Tokyo to get to the right platform on time, and I wish we could have just been chill about it. (Though the scramble was partly because we had two 9-year-olds with us, so ymmv)
