I won't harken to the words of rich men who had no intention of allowing the rabble vote

the ideal government that bends to the Will of the Voter means the Voter must apply pressure

Representatives must fear the Voter, not be guaranteed a pension after a few short years of cheering on a dictator
When autocracy takes hold in a country, everything goes on as before—police go on policing, landlords go on collecting rent, people go on showing up to work.

The transition takes place so smoothly because all the elements necessary to fascism were present under democracy.

In a world where queer community often revolves around private businesses, Denny Blaine (Seattle’s queer beach) shows why public queer space matters. It’s where I feel comfortable enough to knit and exist in the summer.

WOW. @haleaziz.bsky.social with a new scoop: ICE now gets a running list of every person who is going to be taking a domestic flight inside the United States from the TSA and runs it through their database looking for targets. This explains the Babson College student's arrest.

A social media ban for children under 16 = proof of age

That proof is identifiable information (typically a state-issued ID)

Banned - except those who choose to link their viewing habits with their name, address, DOB and photo

Everything needed for identity theft

- I can't wait for future archeology to refer to various crosses, statues, and buildings to be evidence of an ancient wizard cult

Capitalism is not markets, and socialism is not planning.

In fact, capitalism can be highly planned, and socialism can utilize free markets. E.g. market socialism, with a system of worker cooperatives participating in a genuinely free market.

The difference is who owns the means of production.

I find it very telling after hearing about prevention as the primary concern of health care all my life that the US is now punishing those who "failed"

The urban legend of ambulance rides denied coverage when the patient was too unconscious to ask for prior approval comes to mind
Thank you for posting this information.
It's absolutely horrifying - and even worse - this is the only place I have heard of the obviously misnamed "Wiser" program.
