I read 600+ articles and did hundreds of hours of research to bring you 44 slides on the biggest themes to watch in global #mentalhealth.

Pretty sure nothing like this exists anywhere in this part of the world (not at this price anyway).

As a small-town boy whose parents survived hunger and lived lives of hard labour, I owe so much of my ability (audacity) to dream freely to Dr Singh's vision.

This loss will hit differently if you are a 80s' or 90s' kid who remembers how the world was before 91.

Thank you, Sir. Rest in peace. 🙏🏾

20 years ago today, my family survived the #IndianOcean #Tsunami that killed at least 250,000 people.

Every year, I remember the kind strangers of the #Andamans who helped us come back alive instead of in body bags.

20 years on, I'm still hanging on to the boarding pass of our rescue flight...

"Thy tyme ys unquantifiable" reminded me of this passage from Elizabeth Strout's 'Olive Kitterdige'.

Welle sayde, olde bard. Thy words doth tuggeth at my heartstrings.

"I like the world a little more than I did before this call. Thank you Tanmoy! 🤍"

I just conducted a live session on the hard lessons I've learned surviving 4 years as a solo indie creator.

This is a feedback note from a participant.

I don't think any compliment can top this.

My heart is full. 🥹

📢 I've created a free workbook on curiosity for writers.

What does curiosity mean to you?

How does it shape your creative choices?

How would your relationship with curiosity change if you were to absorb its links with colonialism, power, and in/justice?

2 things everyone who goes from a job to life as a solo creator tears their hair about:

1. Now that your salary doesn't magically ka-ching in your account on the 31st, without your having to ask anyone, you must-aargh!-personally ask people to pay you.

2. "I'm just not ready."

Antidote:

Non-US/-European solo creator trying to protect paying subscribers from being eaten up by a bad economy, broken payment infrastructure that doesn't care about them, lack of paying culture, whimsical regulations, loneliness, impostor syndrome, faltering motivation, and the terror of Elon Musk.

"Went to the Arctic Circle despite massive anxiety."
"Stood up to a bully boss."
"Escaped a dictatorship, a marriage, and an anxiety disorder."
"Navigated a hypomanic episode without fully losing myself."

- my readers' wins in 2024.

What an honour it is for me to write for you beautiful people.

Right at this moment, someone else is crying, too.

Someone else is also reusing the soggy lump of a tissue because getting up and walking to the tissue box is too much work.

Someone else is also typing and deleting long messages of regret..

... and promises they won't be able to keep.

Will be addressing the bee that's been buzzing the loudest in my bonnet - the politics of curiosity - at my friend Sanne Breimer's one-of-a- kind 'Writing for Transformation' course tonight.

What does curiosity mean to you?

When I travel to a city now, my limit is 4 days.

When I climb back up, my heart starts to sing.

Sure, the roads and the waste management can be a nightmare.

But I feel I'm home. I'd given up on ever feeling this way.

I owe so much to this one book.
Read. But know that it will change your life.

Never bought into the cliché that a book can change your life - until Dr Prabha Chandra gifted me @suzypuss.bsky.social's book.

Delhi - all of it, not just its air - was ripping apart my already frayed mind.

Dr Gask's tender, compelling story of how a change of place can remap your mind... +
