The article goes on to say “They don’t know why the deal didn’t happen”. Well I can give you 3 reasons.
1. It’s a crappy offer.
2. The Sabres have said they don’t want draft picks.
3. According to Jeff Marek (Probably the only hockey insider I trust) JJ Peterka is Terry Pegula’s favorite player.

A perfect example of this is from a recent 32 thought where he said IF Alex Tuch were available then MAYBE a team like Tampa would be interested. There’s no indication that the Sabres have any intention of trading Tuch.

Elliot admitted that he was just spit balling when he threw out Cozens and Byram for Petrerson. He never reported that was actually discussed.
What I’m really getting at here is that Elliot seems completely OK with putting Sabres names in rumors but seems to refuse do it with guys from other teams.

I personally think Elliot has been making up a lot of the Cozens stuff. Does anyone else find it weird that he says he knows that 2/3 of league has talked to the Sabres about Cozens but can’t name a single player that’s been offered in exchange for Cozens?

Alex Tuch is from the Buffalo area and grew up a Sabres fan. The Sabres need guys who want to be there like Tuch. Literally 0% chance they trade him. If the Sabres make a deal it will be to package their prospects for a proven vet.
