A progressive board game lover who will always care more about who is at the table than what game is on it.

Board game accessibility, and community.

One game becomes your job. You clock in while you play it. Are paid like 21.00 an hour to play this game.

What game would you pick?

How often would you play other games instead of that one, even though they don’t pay you?

Game nights can be resistance.

Play a game.
Lose yourself in joy.

Ask everybody what support they need and what support they are going to give this week.

Life is a cooperative game.

They aren’t all perfect games, but Disney has really kicked booty when it comes to licensing games with its IP.

I can’t think of any other IP with such a range of games? Maybe Star Wars? Ohh, wait.

I couldn’t make it as a board game TikToker. My perfectionism, self image, and mental health got in the way every time I tried to start it back up, but wow was that platform cool for board gamers.

I am much more more of a board game player than a TCGer.

But thanks to some fun thrift finds, I now have a fully playable Magic Commander deck, Pokémon deck, and Lorcana deck ready for use at a moments notice.

Any others I should keep an eye out for?

My snobbiest board game take is that Carcassonne 1st edition is the very best art available for the game.

Todays thrift finds:

Horrified.
Dungeon Academy.

Played Dungeon Acadamy, cool roll and write. Real time is fun. It felt maybe a little too fast though?

Horrified is brand new! Excited to get it to the table

One thing about my board game table?

I like to say all are welcome.

But if you make the game less safe for others who are or are not at the table at that moment, you are not welcome.

Board gaming is a hobby that has so much capacity for inclusivity.

And so much capacity for unintentional exclusion.

“Oops, we maxed player count”
“Sorry, we already started”
“This game is probably too complex for a beginner.”

It would be cool to have a game that anybody could join anytime.
