If Senator Murray Watt approves the North West Shelf extension, his legacy will forever be as the man who destroyed the oldest rock art on the planet.

It will be an act of vandalism so gross that nothing he can do in politics thereafter could counter the damage.
The Murujuga rock art is one of Australia's most priceless heritage sites.

And it's being slowly destroyed.

If Environment Minister Murray Watt approves the 50 year extension to the North West Shelf, it will be a death sentence for Murujuga.

The Coalition is going to this election with no 2030 emissions target. None. If you care about real climate action—how is that meant to work? No checkpoints, no certainty for business, and the cost? It lands on our kids. We can’t afford more climate delay.

The world is fast approaching temperature levels where insurers will no longer be able to offer cover for many climate risks, said Günther Thallinger, on the board of Allianz SE. #auspol #climate

Just don’t go. America doesn’t want you.
An Australian was denied US entry for bizarre reasons. He’s not alone
One Australian traveller says he’s now $15,000 out of pocket after being denied entry to the US after “enhanced vetting”. His crime? Choosing a cheap fare.

Why the fuck didn’t CPAC cover the costs when they charge for attendance?

Taxpayers shouldn’t be footing the bill for LNP politicians to speak at a for-profit event.

An absolute joke. Vote them out.

Dutton, mansplaining to the ‘average housewife’, how he’s tried, relentlessly, to take Australia off track by voting against Housing affordability and EVERY SINGLE cost of living measure put forward by the Labor government because it’s all just about cheap political point scoring for him

The Budget should include a massive and historic increase in funding for research. Not only is it needed, but we really should be poaching ever medical and scientific researcher from the US we can. Absolutely perfect timing.
This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

If you’re sick of seeing this bloke’s face and sick of continually hearing “Peter Dutton says …” from our bubblegum media, then the only thing to do is put the LNP last come election day.

Great article, btw.

When we came to office, inflation and interest rates were going up, now they’re both coming down.

For a household with a mortgage of $500,000, this rate cut will save them $80 a month, or $960 per year.

It won't solve every problem in our economy or in household budgets but it will help. #auspol

Dutton’s perennial stupidity of undirected public service cuts - Pearls and Irritations
One of the seminal characteristics of political populist idiocy is the trumpeting of intention to carve up the population of public servants.
