It really is — I feel lucky I can do this, especially because the local zoo rescues these birds.

It’s such a beautiful photo — the bird looks so lively out in nature.
I didn’t know this photographer, so thank you for introducing their work.

Your explanation opened a door for me — it gave me my first real starting point to learn more about European history, which I’m really happy about. Thank you for sharing such fascinating insights.

Learning about the history behind these bird names helped me understand parts of European history that I never knew before.

In France, do colors carry symbolic meanings or cultural significance after the Middle Ages — for example, in the Tricolore?

It seems that now it’s the same distinction as in English.
I might be wrong, but I wonder — in Japan, we often find “small” things charming.
Maybe this reflects an old aesthetic from our classics that finds beauty in small, delicate things.

I recently learned that in English, people tend to call the grey ones “herons” and the white ones “egrets,” mostly based on color.
I found it interesting to notice the difference between Japanese and English naming.

They’re kept at a nearby zoo here. They’re so smart and cute — I really like them. I’ve heard that even picking up their feathers is prohibited. It’s interesting that some have gone wild in Singapore — the climate seems a bit like Australia’s. I hope it has some friends out there.

Still, it’s kind of amazing how a flying bird can look completely still in the air.

We hardly had any of those pleasantly warm autumn days.
It feels like autumn never came, and my body can’t quite keep up.

Lately things feel stifling.
I just want to breathe —
to drift a little in the English-speaking world,
with a little help from ChatGPT,
and spend some quiet time on Bluesky, away from the noise for a while.

Your comment made me realize the charm of using “-san” for wild birds — a touch of respect hidden in playfulness. 😊
