For sending everything to GM, simply press "Update". GM Link keeps track of which slices you changed and only updates those. If you have a very large Aseprite doc, you can however choose to only update the slices you selected, to save some hash-checking time. (5/6)

Default location ("Sprites/..." within GM) can be set as well as a host of other things in settings. You can btw use multiple Aseprite documents for the same GM project. All settings here are saved and stored on a per Aseprite doc basis. (4/6)

You can add animations (sprites with subimages) to GM using the normal frames + tags flow in Aseprite, but you can now also have your sprite sheet on the same Aseprite frame, put a slice around it and check the "Strip" option in the toolbar. GM Link takes care of the rest. (3/6)

GM Link utilizes Aseprite's "slices" for you to indicate what becomes sprites in your GM project. There's a handy toolbar that lets you bulk edit stuff like origin, bounding box, animations and more.

In your #gamemaker game, you can just do as in the pic, but swap with your game id and channel of course. It uses try/catch and simple logs to be allowed to fail silently, as I wouldn't want a simple version check to get in the way of the game. (3/4)

When uploading your game to itchio, use their cmd tool 'Butler'. That way you can specify a "--userversion" parameter that fits with the versioning format you're using for your game. See the pic for example. That's literally the only command you need. (2/4)

Oddly hyped about @itch.io granting me access to custom CSS so I can do *REALLY IMPORTANT* things such as rounding the corners on the trailer, and adding the in-game cursor to the store page! Always loved itch.io, but now... It's romantic.

In my new game TRIMJOB, you play as a big ol' pair of hedge shears trying to trim down the weeds in as few strokes as possible. 4 gardens with 18 levels each. It's fast, it's arcade-y, it's out now! :)

These changes are meant to make it easier to start using GM Link on an already established GM project.

If you haven't seen this before, GM Link is simply a free Aseprite plugin that aims to make the sprites -> GameMaker flow painless and more fun. (3/4)

Coming in hot with a fresh update for #GMLink (sync #Aseprite sprites to #GameMaker with one click) New tab for managing default values of your sprites, and GM Link no longer overwrites the properties of existing sprites that you don't change in Aseprite. (1/4)

it also remembers which GM project each of your Aseprite docs is connected to. By opening another doc or even switching tabs, it will target the correct GM project, which is not only convenient, but also saves you from accidentally syncing your sprites to the wrong GM project!

GM Link - my free #Aseprite extension that lets you sync sprites to #GameMaker with 1 click has received an update! It now more accurately understands the GameMaker format and doesn't require the project tool to open (saving you time), and... (🧵)
