Dave and Miss Miller are also "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" situations. Sadie is Beckett's adoptive mother. While Dave and Miss Miller are somewhat old-fashioned (though not harmfully so), Sadie has more modern ideals and allows Beckett more freedom to be herself and make her own decisions.

Alvin is in a relationship with Eleanor. They've had a close friendship since they were pups and it blossomed into romance, though not as sugary sweet as Beckett and Brittany. Their dates are more akin to friend outings; pizza parties, horror movie nights and blowing their allowances at the arcade.

Brittany is in a sapphic relationship with Beckett. They may not seem compatible at a glance, but they actually compliment each other very well, even down to their personality types (ESFP+ESFJ). It's a very traditional romance, with dates, dances, flowers and chocolates, the whole nine yards.

The boys are about the same as they always have been in personality, but there are some things worth noting. Alvin is more emotionally open and vulnerable, Theodore is more effeminate and Simon sometimes grapples with the expectations of being "the smart/responsible one".

And now, the new character: Beckett Tanner. She's the new kid on the block, a relaxed, fun-loving slacker who just wants to enjoy her life without any turmoil or drama. Despite her outwardly "lazy" appearance, she can be extremely motivated and dedicated when the situation demands it.

Eleanor might be where the differences in tone and character are most clear. While canon often made her a clone of Brittany or Theodore, here she's a headstrong, athletic tomboy who fights for what's right. She's also a prankster who likes creepy things and gross-out humor, to her sisters' dismay.
