Too Much Spoon

Old(er) software developer. I don't think this is a good idea at all. But I've had worse.

The future is in people, not computers.
We get this at work. People using copilot to transcribe a meeting and NEVER checking its accuracy. How could you? You aren't presented with the transcript to edit until after.

So meeting minutes, which are meant to settle arguments now hallucinate fictional characters in attendance.

GDPR at no point says you can't transfer customer data from your old website to the new.

It does however have a lot to say about deleting data without a good reason.

Like the Online Security Act, there are plenty of people happy to misinterpret the law and choose the easiest path for them.

It's been staring us in the face since the early 2000's!

Picked up a set of 4 Stargazer SD Gundam, thinking all SD were snap out, but no! snippers required! Was hoping my boy could put this together on his own as with previous SD and EG. But he has been patient in snipping the parts free.

He does look good though! A cleaner design than the HG Buster.

On my way to the post office, I tried to pretend it wasn't so bloody hot out I couldn't even gauge exposure levels on my phone's oled screen.

Anyway, these came out under exposed and over saturated, but I actually think they're quite lovely!

De-Aging is not just a garish new CGI fad from an industry that has long run out ideas.

It's another way for the old to pull up another ladder for the young.

Had they de-aged Brando, would De Niro get his break into mainstream movies like Godfather pt 2, to later de-age himself in The Irishman?

I am 100% I've seen this in a Cronenberg movie, and it's taking every ounce of parental decency not to tell my 6yo boy 'Hey how would you like to watch a movie about a scientist and a fly?'

Ah, another terrible book cover for a classic horror. This doesn't show on screen, but this looked like grungy neon orange spray paint stencil work.

You know, the aesthetic most commonly associated with Shirley Jackson.

IIRC, the back cover was a quote of the VERY FIRST sentence.

Lazy and crap.

I though I'd wandered into an alternate dimension, and discovered an orange dandelion. But a plant identifier thinks it's Hawkweed, which is a slightly cooler name.

My Dad loved movies, he recorded so much from TV on to VHS, editing out the ad breaks. He was good too! I've seen worse professionally edited cuts.

But of all the movies he showed us, The 'Burbs stands out as a favourite.

To this day I send my brothers gifs about 'Finding Walter' when gardening.

Happy Fathers day dads and surrogate dads: the mums, older siblings, grandparents, carers, and office dads. You play a vital role in young lives.

My boy and I played our first game of Stuffed Fables, a narrative dice-drafting boardgame, saving a girl from the monsters under her bed.

Describe your favourite movie in the most misleading way possible.

An exiled prince leaves his peaceful village to re-trace the steps of the beast that gave him rabies. Rather than help a progressive matriarchal village, he destroys it with the help of a girl, radicalised by giant werewolves.

Always wondered how much I'd enjoy a Princess Mononoke game, and turns out I'd be brough to tears by the end of the intro fmv.

So, thanks a lot Nomada Studio!

Sega once again showing why:

1 - They lost the console war, despite the cooler games
2 - Piracy is always the answer.

Who is this collections of games from 1990-95 for, Sega? Is there really a secondary used market for a Sonic collection? If there is, does it really outweigh the digital overhead?

Oh, that's strange. This looks a lot like a DEI policy. Surely not?

More wholesome adventures down overgrown paths, bisecting civilization.

Hopefully a colour for everyone here.

Who is LEGO even for these days? 101 Dalmatians is a great movie, but are there many 18+ people out there willing to drop £130 on a 64 year old puppy?

There must be. And I don't want to come down on anybody's hobby, you do you, we are big lego fans here, but... wtf?

Also, Free Delivery!

I love Britain's mash of paths.

Old walls, new warehouses, punk art, and leaves.

My kid hates losing. I hope it's an age thing, but I'm looking for board games that can help with that.

In Photosynthesis, I found a game with a lot of little losses and wins, each turn you might win more or less energy which you then spend to expand your forest.

Educational, fun, and thematic!

I dunno, edgy Ganecube adds hit different to the previous gen's PlayStation.

This just looks like every poster for domestic violence, but tries to be funny.

Note how this Wipeout one doesn't even try for humour, yet still makes the game look goddamn cool, despite the drug abuse.

My 6yo read 15 different books to earn this, and did 90% of the work piecing together this EG Strike Rouge Gundam.

For anyone wondering when their kid can start, I helped with a couple of tricky joins, the stickers. Snap out parts are so good!

He was so proud at every step, and had to show mum 🥰

Look, I get this POS knockoff Zaku was going to be a pain in he ass, but c'mon, I did the 30MM in a work day, I've finished HG's in 2 or 3 nights.

But the amount, and complexity of the water slides on the Z is insane.

See that shoulder spike? It will only go on in 2 orientations. Why?!
