I’ve just finished the first rough draft of a short story that has ballooned to 26k words! Now I just have to write the other three related ones. It is such a good feeling though, I had to share it! I’m ignoring the whole host of work that I still need to do on it, just for today.

What’s everyone’s New Year’s Resolution for 2025?
Mine is to finish my first full length book. I took a break this year to write and self-publish a short story (my first!), and it was all worthwhile when I held the finished product in my hands!

Hi, a question for authors out there from a newbie writer:
Do you find it better to get a story out on the page in any form, or take the time to refine each chapter (paragraph/line!) before moving on?
I'm finding myself staring at the screen trying to think of the right phrasing for way too long!
