The Zooniverse is a wonderful citizen-science platform and I've participated in many of their projects. I can highly recommend them.
How do I become a volunteer on Zooniverse - the world’s largest and most popular people-powered research platform? Do I need to register? Can I get a certificate for school or community service hours?

All your questions answered in this short video! Plus, do not hesitate to ask us in the comments

"Seed Corn Must Not Be Ground" final lithograph of Käthe Kollwitz, 1942. The death of her son in WW1 and death of her grandson in WW2 obviously profoundly affected the artist. This print reflects the theme of a mother protecting their children from the horrors of war #WomensArt

My image from last night of NGC 4565, aka the Needle Galaxy or Berenice's Hair Clip, taken with my Unistellar Odyssey. A large spiral galaxy seen edge-on, it lies about 40 million miles from Earth in the constellation Coma Berenices (Berenice's Hair). #astrophotography

Why, I’s practically next door.
A barred spiral galaxy, observed with the Apache Point 2.5m Telescope in the SDSS survey.

It is at redshift 0.008 (lookback time 114.4 million years) with coordinates (221.92610, 18.50202).

44 volunteers classified this galaxy in Galaxy Zoo 2.

I was today years old when I discovered that saffron comes from a domesticated variety of crocus. Actually, it takes a huge number of crocus flowers to harvest (by hand) saffron in any quantity, which is why it is so expensive.

I’m with Boston.
In the hour of darkness and peril and fear, let’s all channel a little Paul Revere.

From last night, NGC 3344, a 10th-magnitude barred spiral galaxy in Leo Minor, ~22 million light-years away. Half an hour with my Unistellar Odyssey from Bortle 8.5 NYC. #astrophotography #Unistellar #astronomy

Image I took Sunday night with #Unistellar Odyssey, 18 min. of 4-second exposures of NGC 3521, a mag. ~10 spiral galaxy in southern Leo. It's called a flocculent spiral because its arms are less well defined than a grand design spiral such as M81 or our own Milky Way. #astrophotography

Dystopian technology vision of the day: The world lies in darkness, the power grid failed, drained because everyone instructed a chatbot to create their own AI action figure/avatar....which they can no longer even access. Might make a good Black Mirror ep....

When in Mexico last year for the eclipse, I used my Seestar S50 to image Omega Centauri, the most splendid globular star cluster visible from Earth. In NYC it clears our southern horizon by a few degrees, but I have never seen it from here. #astrophotography #seestar #zwo

NGC 4216, a large,edge-on spiral galaxy, lies ~55 million light-years away in Virgo. It's flanked by smaller galaxies NGC 4206 and NGC 4222. 15 minutes of stacked 4-second exposures taken with my Unistellar Odyssey from Queens, NY; tweaked in Photoshop. #astrophotography #unistellar

My review of the #Unistellar Odyssey Pro smart telescope: www.pcmag.com/reviews/unis...

It's good at imaging faint objects, colors were bright but sometimes off, and downloading FITS files was problematic. The digital eyepiece nearly doubles the price over the base model.
Unistellar Odyssey Pro Review
The Unistellar Odyssey Pro is a powerful smart telescope for viewing and photographing deep space, with a built-in eyepiece that offers an immersive digital image of the object it's pointing at.
