Peregrine with Prey. Urban peregrin falcon bringing food back to base. I liked this one because it flew in directly overhead so gave a slightly different perspective on what I normally see from the sidelines.

Juvenile Pergrine Falcon. Just one bird fledged this year at my local location. Better than none however. Its been a poor year for pergrines hatching/fledging in the UK with failures at a number of well-established locations.

I saw these every morning on a recent trip to Scotland whilst on my morning walk down a path to a bird hide. I'd forget they were there and suddenly they were; appearing from nowhere.

House Martin with a beak full of mud in the course of doing some nest maintenance. We are in the middle of a dry spell here so putting water down in their usual mud holes so they can keep their nests in good order.

Follow the food...Juvenile Peregrine getting flight practise. The parent will carry the prey and the juvenile has to follow. I keep well back from their nest/roost and (with the help of an 800mm lens) they'll fly plenty close enough for some nice shots without disturbance.

Follow the food...Juvenile Peregrine getting flight practise. The parent will carry the prey and the juvenile has to follow. I keep well back from their nest/roost and (with the help of an 800mm lens) they'll fly plenty close enough for some nice shots without disturbance.
