Furtive writer and programmer.
Still waspish, witty and suffering absolutely no fools whatsoever at 86. What a goddess. I wish she could live forever.
‘It is the scariest of times’: Margaret Atwood on defying Trump, banned books – and her score-settling memoir
At 86, she’s a literary seer and saint – and queen of the Canadian resistance. So what does the writer make of our dystopian world?

Just finished Snake Eater and wow... 15 minutes of finger-gnawingly tedious overwritten monologue at the end to explain what was going on and how I should feel about it. How can anyone possibly imagine that's good storytelling, let alone someone who claims to love movies?

If you ever want to torture information out of me, forget waterboarding. Just play Kojima's expository dialogue at me, where every single tedious point has to be made three times. Three times is how often every point has to be made, Snake. Snake, the point making multiplier is three, got that?

Can folks do me a favor?

I was on Bluesky early & it was great. Mostly. I hit the eject button in January.

I came back, many colleagues are here, but still don’t know I am.

I co-created Halt and Catch Fire. I write TV & comics.

Here’s two favorite set photos.

Repost? I am in the wilderness.

Fight videogame censorship and support a worthy charity into the bargain.
VILE: Exhumed may be banned for sale, but I refuse to let that stop people from playing the game.

It’s now available, for free, at WWW.VILEISBANNED.COM

Please share the site, share the game, and fuck anyone who tries to control storytelling and expression.

"In a world of disenchantment, where no one believed that politicians could be good, being bad meant you must be authentic." Incredible stuff from Adam Curtis, as always. I still can't decide if he's a high-functioning conspiracy theorist or the only man on the planet who knows what's going on.

It's funny. Younger Tony was so sniffy about NVN2, and yet today I'm probably more excited about this than anything announced at the Summer Game Fest. Time makes fools of us all.

Will no one think of the chitlins?
I know posting "the girls are fighting" seems funny, but it's actually insensitive and shitty.

My father died in a girl fight. He tried to break it up and the girls pulled him apart like freshly baked bread. He didn't even scream. One moment he was there, the next just a spray of dad viscera.

Loved this one. It's so grounded in the real world - Hull, for heaven's sake! - but that just makes the violence and hint of the supernatural dig in deeper.

Same question to the Better Twitter: I love to curl up with an atmospheric\spooky game at Xmas, eg, Hob's Barrow, Mundaun, Draugen, If On A Winter's Night. Foolishly played Fear of the Spotlight too soon, any recent-ish suggestions? Don't let me down like the Other Place did.

Nice! I do love a Spooky Little Game, and I've been treating myself to late night lights-out plays of this one for a while now.
I can’t believe we got a nomination for our narrative! We’re side by side with so many great games and we’re so grateful and honored.
What an absolute honor to be nominated for narrative at @indiegameawards.gg
