I wonder why @oxfordcitycouncil.bsky.social bin emptiers have turned my driveway (just the bit to the right of the line down the middle) into an LTN and removed the actual street LTN bollard. Not helpful when visitors in a car are about to arrive.

Yes Yes Yes Yes! @thamesvalleypolice.bsky.social please take note in Oxford and everywhere!
Delivery companies should be forced to employ the riders & ensure the cycles they use are road legal! Until then the delivery companies won't do squat about the illegal use of unregistered electric motorcycles as ebikes.
London council urges food delivery companies to do more to educate riders about e-bike laws and dangerous illegal modifications

Once again "car and cyclist", not "car and bicycle" or "driver and cyclist". The bias in local rags like @theoxfordmail.bsky.social is incredible. I'm glad there were no serious injuries, and happy to see "crash" rather than "accident" used to describe it. www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/2554795...
Police on scene after cyclist knocked off bike in Oxford collision
A cyclist was knocked off their bike at The Plain roundabout in Oxford, police have confirmed in a statement.

One of the best debunks of populist nonsense I've seen for a long time. Particularly disappointed in my MP over this. She's normally very good!
I have today sent the attached open letter to Anneliese Dodds MP

Why are these here on Little Clarendon Street @oxfordshirecc.bsky.social ? I thought you had a policy that proscribed these signs?

Extremely loud awful music and diesel fumes are pumping in through my office window. What's the point of St Giles fair at this time of day when kids are back at school and people are trying to work?

The Lisbon funicular disaster is shocking and tragic. My heart goes out to all those who have been seriously injured or lost loved ones.

It's interesting that the number of deaths is about 1% of the number of people killed on UK Roads in a year. That's life loss as above each and every four days.

Absolutely spot on.
Whoever needs reminding: the Convention on Human Rights is one of the greatest achievements of European civilisation, following one of its greatest tragedies. For us to leave it would not only undermine all our own rights and freedoms, it would be a completely immoral abdication of responsibility.

Great weekly from @oxfordclarion.bsky.social but I think that if someone is arrested, goes to hospital then goes into police custody (re 21 year old driving into flats on St Aldates) they are discharged from hospital rather than released aren't they?

I wonder how many of the nearly 30,000 killed or seriously injured (of which over 1600 died) were caused by cyclists...
Fatalities on UK roads increased in 2024
Official data from the government shows that although road casualties decreased in 2024, there was a worrying rise in fatalities

How can stuff from 1995 be in a museum? Surely that's just wrong. It was only a couple of years ago wasn't it?
Radiohead’s OK Computer was released in the UK 28 years ago.

Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke have kept notebooks throughout their lives. These personal archives give an insight into the artists’ creative thinking.

This page from a 1995 notebook shows Thom’s frenetic reworking of ‘Karma Police’.

Double yellow lines?

“Nah, don’t worry about it”

A segregated bike lane?

“Nah, don’t worry about it”

These dockless vehicles are out of control. Local councils should ban these motor cars from the roads until owners can be trusted to only use the designated parking bays

How it was and how it should be. Tying the red emergency cord up like this can be life-threatening for a mobility impaired person who has fallen and cannot get up from the floor. Don't do it!

Two of us went from Oxford to Coventry and back with our bikes yesterday, with a ticket split at Banbury. Without bikes the ticketing and seat reservations would have been all digital. With them we got more than half a deck of playing cards (28 items)! @crosscountryuk.bsky.social

Why oh why has @cycloxoxford.bsky.social moved to a ridiculous membership renewal system that requires people to click a link to pay? It's a sure way to encourage more people to fall for phishing attacks and to lose members because they miss the renewal email. Default should not be losing members.

From a survey I've been sent. You can't actually select more than one, and several of the entries there are denominations, not religions! Absolutely no sign of a privacy statement either!

"Do you identify with any of the following religions? (Select all/any that apply.)"
