I'm so happy to see so many of you here!

If you're following me and I haven't followed you back, it's because I can't figure out who you are. If you like, comment here to remind me that you're someone I know.
So I finally got around to signing up for UPS's "discounted rates" for my business based on volume... blah blah. ( Why now? They stopped giving me shipping boxes because they don't see my shipping habits. ) Well, I hooked the account to the back end of shopify and bam! $20 more for a mini package...

This week...

Something I've wanted that costs 100k+ REFURBISHED was on auction. High bid was $30. Had to let it go because:

1. The company that makes that particular CAD fabric cutting table is too stupid or snobby to sell software for their older machines.
2. it takes too much power.

It hurt.

So, anyone know how to deal with a problem responding to yahoo emails? For some reason I’m getting a lot of folks using yahoo but I’m not allowed to reply because I use gmail and reply with the website email through that maybe?

I’m finally getting work done in my new workshop. Though both of my straightstitch machines are messed up. Crossing my fingers that the mechanic who is on the way is good.

The backend of my website has been invaded by AI. The message that came up when I disabled it is hilarious.

"When enabled, your customer data is securely used with other Shopify data to improve products, ad targeting, and personalization for your store..."

No other merchant can see your data."

Just got an email saying that they reviewed my website and gave it an F. It goes on to say they can totally fix my problems.

I know I shouldn’t reply but I couldn’t resist. I sent:

I reviewed your unsolicited ad and gave it an F.

Ok someone tell me it’s not just me. When my phone gives me a photo memory, it’s never a good feeling. 17 years ago today… oh yeah I used to have time to get creative and put on fashion shows. Thanks

Almost finished emptying the old workshop.

Still have some industrial work tables to get rid of. Free! Let anyone know.

I also have three beam clamps. Heavy duty. Free. Performers? Kinksters?

I’m looking for a new home for industrial work tables and rolls of fabric. Spread the word and or let me know where to do so myself?

Today I hired a strong Russian guy to help me move sewing machines and received in stead a thin dude who tried hard. Took an extra hour or so but we got almost everything in the trailer.

I’m finally watching season 19 of Project Runway. I’m loving the new direction. They’re showcasing the pieces a lot more so I really get to see the details. It’s also more yummy visually.

I need a couple of strong people to help with moving heavy machinery and stuff on March 15th and 16th. I need them to be able to lift 100 pounds and navigate the narrow stairs at the old rainier brewery. This is a paid job. Not a favor. 😁

Spent a lot of time trying to mail a package to Hong Kong. Asked for an alternate address. They were snarky about their address being correct. I was polite. Spent another hour on the problem. Found out that the system under charged for shipping by more than $100. Removed Hong Kong from the list…

I just got off the phone with my PVC fabric manufacturer. I called to check pricing so I could plan ahead.

It’s twice as expensive now.

So I am once again prevented from getting blue, pink or purple special made.

The mouth breathing portion of the US population has dealt me a real blow.

I received two attention seeking emails from a man I don’t know today. He’s rich and famous, so it seems a little sad that he still needs to behave like that kid at the pool yelling for his parents to watch him try a dive.

Personal update. I’m moving out of the workshop at the old rainier brewery. Not just because they nearly killed my business by trapping 2/3 of my workshop for 10 months. I’m going to have a fabric and other spare stuff sale soonish.

Found how to disable reposts and quote’s today. Feed is amazing now. No memes, no orange ass, just my actual friends’ posts. Had to unfollow someone because their posts are nothing but directly posted memes. ( if I know you please forgive me )

I'm seeing more memes and news articles again. Not sure if they changed things here to bypass my desire not to see reposted stuff or if people have started reposting them directly. *sighs* Have to decide if unfollowing people is my next step or if I can do something else first.

When are small businesses going to start posting the bad behavior of their abusive customers on social media I wonder. I just set up a "NO SOUP FOR YOU" filter on my email and websites. These 4 abusive men won't be emailing or ordering from me again.

Yeah, in case you hadn't noticed because you're doing it too, I'm isolating myself. Kinda normal for me at this point but covid really let me lean into it hard. Couldn't even get my butt to a post-Thanksgiving dinner pie get-together. *sighs*

Yesterday was the bomb cyclone in Seattle and tomorrow we expect winds to hit 50 mph. Global climate change is real folks.

Srsly though, being a burner helps so much with these situations. Lump it? Heck enjoy it. Drag out the generator, run lines to neighbors, win at being good to your community.
