I have a feeling it's going to get much worse
"We know for a fact that it costs more to teach a student with severe disabilities....Compared to a student who comes from a family with a loving mom and a loving dad who put education at a high level, you know, it costs a lot less to educate those students."

The Super Bowl music presser was dope from start to finish. Kendrick’s interview was dope, but I especially appreciate the ASL performers’ interview.

In a TV panel on Tuesday, and I joked that Canada's promised "24/7 eyes on the border" should be some hockey sticks with googly eyes jammed in a snowbank.
Aaron and his mom KJ, in Winnipeg, liked the idea, so they made us some truly amazing border sentries. I hope Mr. Trump feels more secure now.

ASL teachers, be more intentional about your standard assignment of "attend a Deaf event." Not all Deaf people will be welcoming to random ASL students who just show up out of nowhere, especially at events that are explicitly meant to be a Deaf space.

Give a specific event, be clear with the rules.

3+ years of self advocacy and i still get the silliest comments / questions ...
Deaf people can drive ?
Wait you like music ?
Wheres your interpreter ?

I swear there will come a day when people realize as a deaf / hard of hearing person the only thing i cant do is hear the same as you.

in my last few years of advocating I have heard stories ranging from employees relegated to repetitive tasks, refusals to train, terminations because in one case "you will cost us money because you cant hear" ... Disgusts me !

The worker said he was compelled to use a hard-of-hearing employee who wasn’t qualified to interpret for him.
