Saw three new (to me) "muffler men" on a gorgeous fall day road trip. My goal is to see all of the muffler men in Illinois by the end of 2026.

Illinois has been doing this for a while. Love my state!

I saw the Cubs play at Wrigley Field (and win!) on Sunday and went with a friend to see the Superman movie today. I'm not a fantasy fan, so I'm not one to ask for a review, but it was just so nice to be with a group of people, enjoying a communal fun experience. I still appreciate it post-lockdown.

I'm jealous! I met him once at a book signing and he said he liked my necklace. I'll always keep it!

I got to hear endless praise and tributes to Brian Wilson, who I've loved since I was a teenager -- and I'm so happy that he lived long enough to know how important, influential, and beloved he was. He passed away knowing he was an icon.

I celebrated with a Mani/Pedi, a slice of New York pizza, and a lottery scratch off ticket.

So very grateful ✝️ and relieved. Whew!

Since I retired, it seems like every week I'm being tested for cancer. (My dad was a cancer magnet -- seven different kinds -- so I'm prone.) Today I got a clean report for esophagus, stomach, and colon. So ... yay and thanks, body.

I had a planned vacation cancelled last minute, but I was asked to take part in *seven* animal rescue transports during that week, so I was needed. I'm happy with Plan B! (Pictured: One of the kittens I drove, saved from the euth list. Spay and neuter, please! It's the only way out of this mess.)

I made the first step in moving to our family home (goal is October). Brought a bunch of furniture down in my SUV (my aunt is a packing ninja!). Next week I'll organize the kitchen and bring down seldom-used kitchen stuff. It's finally happening!
