From the blue beacon state of Illinois; I split my time between Chicago and a ruby-red rural county. It's ... interesting.
Saw three new (to me) "muffler men" on a gorgeous fall day road trip. My goal is to see all of the muffler men in Illinois by the end of 2026.

In 1990, McConnell said, “When I was a child and my dad was in World War II, I got polio. I recovered, but my family almost went broke. Today, too many families can’t get decent, affordable health care.”

Now he's worth $50 million and says, "They'll get over it."

I had a planned vacation cancelled last minute, but I was asked to take part in *seven* animal rescue transports during that week, so I was needed. I'm happy with Plan B! (Pictured: One of the kittens I drove, saved from the euth list. Spay and neuter, please! It's the only way out of this mess.)

I made the first step in moving to our family home (goal is October). Brought a bunch of furniture down in my SUV (my aunt is a packing ninja!). Next week I'll organize the kitchen and bring down seldom-used kitchen stuff. It's finally happening!

Took my baby cat to the vet for her annual and she's in super health! She was scared and hid, and I felt bad, but she's forgiven me and snuggling with me again.

There are suck-ups, toadies, yes men, brown-noses, and ass kissers. And then there's Lindsey Graham.

Helped transport six animals from rural Illinois shelters to rescues in the Chicago area where they will be safe from euthanization, vetted, fixed, and adopted. I'm overjoyed to see their faces and know how hard people work to ensure their futures. Rescue transport is the great joy of my retirement.

I do transport for animal rescues, and was able to fill requests to get five cats out of the pound and take them to their foster homes. It's a drop in the bucket, but at least five got out and will have happy lives. (Spay and neuter! We cannot adopt our way out of this pet overpopulation crisis.)

I've got an intense phobia of birds, yet I do rescue transport for an exotic animal rescue organization. Last week I held one of my favorite frequent passengers on my finger for about half a minute. I trembled, but Bella was sweet and we both survived. 🐦💙

This pup was abused in KY, lost an eye, and had actual PTSD at only 10 weeks. She was saved by a wonderful organization, and transported up to MN for adoption. I drove her from Chicago and gave her to her rescue. Found out she has a forever family now! Kids to run with and love on. I'm so happy. 💜

I transported this sweet puppy to MN three weeks ago. Rescued from abuse in KY, she lost an eye and had actual PTSD. Enough people loved on her and cared for her to make her adoptable, and I am so happy to hear that she found her forever family this week. May the rest of her days be happy ones! 💜

I helped transport this cutie from a bad situation in rural Illinois to a wonderful rescue in Chicago that has a waiting list for blue kittens like her. She'll have a wonderful life, and probably a forever home by Christmas. (Transport is such a fulfilling retirement activity. I love it!)
