Apologies for coming in a bit hot. Happy to delete the previous posts or leave them up as cautionary tale. But the fact of the matter is that the major inflection points of Dem sentiment loosely correlate with the murder rate, probably the most salient crime variable.

Just look at the difference in price development between traded and non-traded goods. Some of that is due to China absorbing idle labor in the earlier 2000s, which will likely not continue, but still tariffs would eat a lot of the gains from trade.

Not sure I'm that optimistic. Competence (as in ability to do their jobs) in the IRS has been declining for a long time and people seem to be happy to just complain about the government in an abstract way, rather than looking for the reasons or demanding things to be addressed.

What the actual fuck? The filibuster in its current form is no traditional norm and the number of Justices on SCOTUS is deliberately open to change and has been changed in the past.
