I listened to this discussion.
It feels as if the Left are just massively attached to the years they’ve invested in their own theories and intellectual ideas.
Fair enough I guess, but my view is that the Greens are presenting virtually the same policies but in a better, more relatable way.

I don’t expect much from talking/negotiating with the government. But I do enjoy reading home ed stuff.
We ended up bringing up our granddaughter - school wasn’t an option. Home Ed and meeting HE parents and kids has been a big revelation to me.

The government is not there to do the right thing. It’s there to protect the wealthy and the powerful.
This education bill is optics - it’s not based on reality and facts - it’s there to make it look like they care, and that they are doing something.

Schools are in crisis - aiming for impossible targets - losing staff - loads of bored kids - crumbling buildings. The last thing they need right now is an influx of HE kids and their parents.
I’m hoping the reality of life will prevail.
