Ultimately (meaning as soon as 2032), the Democratic path to the presidency has to involve figuring out the South. The region, which is already the country’s largest, is only going to gain power after the next census.

Interesting post, especially that citizens should pressure their Senators over the next 6 weeks to not only confirm judges but hold hearings exposing how constitutionally dangerous some of Trump’s Cabinet nominees are (especially since Repubs may not do this come new session of Congress).

Totally agree and govt capacity says nothing abt the undermining of norms (e.g., indep judiciary, free/fair elections, vibrant free press) that takes a generation to rebuild. Govt bureaucrats took less $ for career stability but w/o this will we attract good employees?

Each of Trump's proposed appointments is a surprise. It is comforting to think that he is simply a vengeful old man, lashing out. This is unlikely. He and Musk and Putin have been talking for years. And the whole idea was that this time he had a plan.
