Okay that's everything I read in 2025. It's quite a lot imho, although I didn't finish a single novel 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe I'll do this again in 2026 but probs not. Happy New Year!

The Power Fantasy #1-14 (Gillen/Wijngaard)

My favourite ongoing comic of 2025, although I'm a little wary about their ability to nail the landing in only two issues if they don't choose to continue further.

Assorted series I started (there's probably more I've forgotten).

Imperial #1 (Hickman/Vicentini/Coello)
Runaways #1 (Rowell/Casagrande)
Mutant X #1 (Mackie/Raney)
January 1, 2026 at 1:16 AM
Ultimate Spider-Man #9-21 (Hickman/Checchetto/Messina)

USM started so strong but the 1 issue = 1 month structure has hurt this a lot. Both the plot and characterisation feel so rushed, even if the individual issues are breezy reads.

Dazzler #1-3 (DeFalco/Romita Jr/Kupperberg)

I'm doubling back to read some stuff missing from Marvel Unlimited when I first made it through the era during the X-Marathon.
January 1, 2026 at 1:06 AM
New Gods #1-4, Mr Miracle #1-4, The Forever People #1-4, and Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #133-139 & #141 (Kirby)

Too early for comment and I'm trying to log these at 1am on New Year's Day, leave me alone!
January 1, 2026 at 1:02 AM
The Ultimates #5-16 (Camp/Frigeri/Allen/Randal)

By far the best of the Ultimate line, Camp is the real deal.
January 1, 2026 at 12:53 AM
Ultimate X-Men #7-19 (Momoko)

Momoko's hang out storytelling clashes with the 1 issue = 1 month structure of the Ultimate line. I've completely lost track of individual character arcs. Very pretty though, particularly the horror scenes.
January 1, 2026 at 12:50 AM
Ultimate Wolverine #1-9 (Condon/Cappuccio/Lins)

Cappuccio is a real talent, but the alt universe stuff doesn't feel very inspired.
January 1, 2026 at 12:47 AM
Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #0-12 (McKay/Cappuccio/Carbone/Pamanik)

Pretty cool that McKay is still stringing together this run, even if the way it's happening is THE DUMBEST SHORTSIGHTED INDUSTRY KILLING SHIT IN COMICS. HOW THE HELL AM I MEANT TO RECOMMEND THIS RUN TO ANYBODY?
January 1, 2026 at 12:45 AM
X-Statix #13-18 (Milligan/Allred)

A frantically snatched cup of water along the X-Marathon.
January 1, 2026 at 12:40 AM
Absolute Superman #2-13 (Aaron/Sandoval/Di Giandomenico/Ossio)

Superman vs Capitalism is a compelling hook but the execution is underwhelming.
January 1, 2026 at 12:37 AM
The Metabarons #1-4 (Jodorowsky/Giménez)

Pretty interesting as an offshoot of Jodorowsky's Dune, but his plotting continues to drive me bananas.
January 1, 2026 at 12:20 AM
Human Target #6-10 (Milligan/Chiang)

Pullido and Chiang trading arcs is crazy!
December 31, 2025 at 11:28 PM
All New Venom #1-5 (Ewing/Gomez)

It's fine, but I really don't care about Venom or modern Spider-Man soap opera, I'm only here for Ewing.
December 31, 2025 at 7:53 PM
Absolute Green Lantern #1-9 (Ewing/Lindsay/Howard/Rossmo/Kotian)

This is the closest to Immortal Hulk or X-Men Red level Al Ewing writing we've had in a long time.
December 31, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Batman #1-4 (Fraction/Jiménez)

Top-tier pop comics.
December 31, 2025 at 7:43 PM
Absolute Flash #1-9 (Lemire/Robles/Kaplan/Moore)

The least interesting series in the Absolute line, it feels the most different for the sake of being different.
December 31, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Metamorpho: The Element Man (Ewing/Lieber)

I can't shake the feeling that I'm not having as much fun as Ewing and Lieber.
December 30, 2025 at 11:56 PM
Absolute Wonder Woman #8-14 (Thompson/Sherman/Bergara)

Absolute Batman is a fantastic Elseworlds book, but the additions in this series are so strong that there's no way they won't sleep into the main DC universe eventually l.
December 27, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Absolute Batman #7-14 (Snyder/Dragotta/Martin)
Absolute Batman Annual #1 (Harren/Johnson/McClaren)

This run could drift into edgelord nonsense if it wasn't so knowingly over the top. Dragotta keeps drawing some of the coolest shit I've seen in my life.
December 27, 2025 at 1:18 PM
Cable & Deadpool #1-6 (Nicieza/Brooks/Zircher)

The difference between Brooks' interior and cover art style is wild.
December 27, 2025 at 1:12 PM
Emma Frost #1-6 (Bollers/Green)

I was dreading this stretch of the X-Marathon thanks to the leering covers by Greg Horn, but the comic inside is very different (but still not especially interesting).
