I read that the social security administrator has backed off his threat. We'll see if that lasts. Meanwhile I see that exit polls showed 56% of voters 50-64 went for trump last year, and it was a tie at 49-49 for people over 65. Did these trump voters really think he would keep his word?!

Spacex has been getting astronauts to orbit safely for five years. A lot of ignorant people probably have no idea. They think somehow musk sent up a heroic rescue on the spur of the moment! Mainstream media deserve some blame for referring to last week's replacement crew liftoff as a "rescue."

Exactly right. There is no evidence that he ever really made the offer. The assoc. administrator of NASA, herself a former astronaut, denies that HQ ever heard of this. Any 'rescue' could not just have been launched on the spur of the moment.

Unfortunately his supporters and plenty of other Americans believe him. Looks like 90% of the comments on the local TV Facebook page are people angry over Biden "abandoning" the astronauts while musk and trump are superheroes who single-handedly saved the day!

Those numbers are wrong. At least 152 million votes were cast in 2024.

As recently as the Obama presidency the right would get hysterical over any perceived softness in foreign policy. Now they have completely sold their souls to go along with trump. Makes me ill.

Judges have ruled against executive decisions many times, have they not? Previous presidents have just accepted it. This one probably will not. His new OMB chief, ratified by every single obsequious Republican senator, has encouraged him to defy the courts.
