I just appreciate you being there for me in your own absentee, ghosty kinda way.

ICE agents look suspicously like a group of Lynyrd Skynyrd fans.

We were all gonna chip in and suprise ya.

Wendy doesn't own any vinyl, so I put artists I know she prefers in the stack closest to the record player. My jazz albums are relegated to a bookshelf across the room.

If no one else uses it, can I call my new ska band "Twee Whimsey"?

God, I'm so sorry, Nikki. There's no excusing intentional cruelty, and it seems to abound these days.

It might be a good PR move for the Rockies at this point.

And I can discern yours (The Clash) from his (Dylan). But Wendy and I share bookshelf space too, allowing Patti Smith to nuzzle next to Barbara Kingsolver, and Jack Kerouac to fight it out with Edward Abbey (who hated Jack). And sometimes, I get my Murakami in her Ishiguro. ;-)

In high school/colllege (80s), I LOVED the Eagles and Henley's solo stuff. As i got older, I realized it was - as you intimated, sonically sterile. All sheen, little soul. And I accepted that Don, despite his formidable pipes, is mostly a grouch.

We just moved. We have too many books. But now that we're moved in and the books have been reshelved, we bought a couple more books.

I've likened it to my morning barefoot walk over fiery Legos, but you took it to a far darker - and likely more accurate - place.

It's like Varuka Salt telling Oliver Twist he's being greedy.

I think my five (at the moment) would be:
Tom Traubert's Blues
Jockey Full of Bourbon
Come On Up To The House
Innocent When You Dream
Hold On

(ask me again tomorrow for a completely revised list.)

Rolling Stone has become one of my short-list go-tos for journalism in 2025. They've been doing it for decades, and they aren't cowering. Hunter Thompson taught them well about not backing down.

As a Buddhist, Tweets like this make me really hope The Dalai Lama can outlive the Trump presidency.

I'm so sorry, Nikki.

Which, according to the President, is everyone except Russia and North Korea.

I've said more than once this year that it's hard to enjoy Schadenfreude when you believe in interdependence...but I'm getting a bit of a contact high off of this chart.

I don't want anyone to suffer...I just want them to wake up.
