Flow: Beautiful animated film about animals trying to survive a mysterious flood. No anthropomorphism, just meows, barks and grunts as they learn to survive together in this gently paced film. I was mesmerised, as was one of my pet cats. My (human) children however found it a little slow.

Anatomy of a Fall: French court room drama. A woman accused of a defenestrating her husband, the only witness her blind son. Accident, suicide or murder? Simply shot, with great naturalistic acting, it keeps up the tension as the mystery unravels steadily across its 2.5 hours.
