Maybe they're thinking of Kyle Tucker? You could argue he's a little better than Duran, when he's on the field. But he's off the field a lot, and Duran is great at staying on it.

Why would Jarren Duran need a "fresh start"? Everybody loves him in Boston! There's no strife between him and his teammates and coaches.
How do you "upgrade" over Duran? Only Judge and Soto, and possibly Corbin Carroll, have more WAR these past 2 years among outfielders, and u can't get any of them.

That's a 93% win rate when reaching base more, versus a 75% win rate when homering more. If we're using the playoffs as proof of anything, then we have to conclude the opposite - the Red Sox would do better to maximize their on base percentage.
