But if you look at i.e. 330km/h, you still get most of the benefit; but with less energy, less noise, and lower track construction costs. And you could get the difference down even lower with a faster accelerating trainset while retaining the top speed of 330km/h.

Heavily dependent on the train. But here's an example of time needed to get btwn two different stops at 350 vs 300 for an ETR1000 model, in ideal conditions.

You see some benefit at 200km stop spacing already, but that's fairly large spacing!

And worse conditions/worse train will shrink that.

honestly at this point I assume that any biofuel is extremely unsustainable and worse than oil, unless it's locally sourced (but of course that doesn't scale)

a) CESA does not have unlimited transmission capacity, so there will still be local price differences in different pricing zones
b) France also has taxes on electricity, and they don't explain all of the difference
c) grid costs have been driven in large part by decision to shut down nuclear

Looking at the global installations can obscure important dynamics.
When we take a look at mature markets in isolation - e.g. rooftop in Australia - we can see the growth has in fact plateaued a couple years ago.

Why do then global installations keep rising? Mostly because fresh markets are opening
