Thanks for posting that. I just read her "I Hold A Wolf By the Ears" collection and could not write anything for about 2 weeks - everything I wrote seemed so small and trite in comparison. It's the best short story collection I've ever read, and I'm now enjoying "The Isle of Youth."

FWIW, the piece in question was a 650-word absurdist story about a man with a squirrel on his back and how he grows to accept and love it, despite the strangeness of the situation.

There nothing sexual about a man finding the courage to stay soft in a world that demands he stays hard. Why, not in the least.

FWIW, it ended up being a bathtub full of buttered egg noodles. The piece just wanted to go there.
