I’ve been experimenting with ways to use LLM AI tools (like ChatGPT or Copilot) to help reduce the emotional and cognitive load that comes with job loss.
Here are some prompt ideas and use cases that might help if you're feeling overwhelmed:
Career Planning Prompts:
“Act as a career coach. I’ve been laid off from a [role] in the game industry. Help me build a 30-day plan to regroup, research new roles, and start applying without burning out.”
“What kinds of game industry jobs could I pivot to with experience in [Production/Narrative/LiveOps/etc.]?”

“Rewrite this resume bullet to highlight impact and metrics.”

got scammed by this practice only by Adobe: no other SaaS did this with me before or after. I swear I signed up to a monthly plan: but in the fine print apparently it was “annual, paid monthly, cancel for a fee (that we won’t tell you how much it is).

No matter how outraged people are; no matter that the FTC is suing Adobe and executives for this practice; Adobe keeps doing it.
I got scammed by this same practice in 2020 the same way: I switched to Affinity instead.

Every time I use Obsidian I think to myself "I really must learn to effectively use Obsidian" and then spend half an hour minimum down the Obsidian Help rabbit hole, looking at how to do the things that I've yet again forgotten.
