I haven't read any of your books yet, I'm ashamed to say! So I don't know if you're a favourite author or not! I've found he's worked well for me when I've put in two authors from different genres who I really like, this is what I get when I choose James Joyce and Irvine Welsh for eg.

Hi @scalzi.com, I've built a Book Recommender System called BoRiS hyboris.streamlit.app He works by asking you for as many of your favourite authors as you like, then recommends books by other authors. Here's what he recommends if a user selects just you as a favourite author. Good recommendations?!
