But yeah! Anime NJ was a good time. I think me going the full weekend is contingent on there being a guest I'm particularly into (like Amemiya), but it's one I'm going to keep an eye on going forward.

It was a pretty full weekend in and around the con for us too. We popped in on Ultraman Live at the American Dream Mall nearby on Saturday, and I had a fruitful haul at the Maplewood Record Fair this morning. It's quickly become my favorite record show, and the word must be out because it was PACKED

Giant Robots at Work went well, with a small but attentive group of about 15 people — not too shabby for a 3PM panel on Sunday at a smaller con. Weird thing is, I'm not sure the panels before and after us even showed up (though maybe the previous panel ended early).

@patzprime.bsky.social was lucky enough to go home with one of the pieces he drew!

Night one had a shaky start with a novice interpreter for Amemiya's first panel, but for the next night's Garo Taiga premiere they brought in someone who was up to the task. Amemiya's character design Q&A felt intimate, with a group of us crowded around him drawing and explaining his process.

The vibes are so great too, it's a just a small con at a hotel. Feels like a throwback. Very comfy.

He's got like a box of ink stamps too, he's come fully prepared.

I've yet to have an order in DS2 where I deliver a package with a reusable shopping bag though

Maybe I ought to give that a look then. A Haunting was real comfort TV for me but I kind of lost interest in paranormal-themed TV somewhere between the fall of Ghost Hunters and rise of Ghost Adventures
