Honestly, completely fair.

Across the Spider-Verse used a form of Ai to generate in between frames and background elements, and had actual artists and animators touch them up as needed. The difference is those same animators ultimately built the training data themselves, and it was used as a tool in the toolbox.

No, that's a completely fair point. I think my ultimate issue is that saying "ai is the problem" misses that the problem is actually the fucknut ceos pushing Ai, not the undelying tech itself.

That's fair. I'm not saying they shouldn't have work, I just think that work *could* be making individualized datasets for different projects, rather than using the giant ones that steal text from all over the internet.

The issue, ultimately, is the ethics of the creation. In its current form, it it horrifically unethical, and I am 100% on team "Fuck Ai". I just think there is a small, SMALL window where it COULD MAYBE POTENTIALLY be acceptable once the executives pushing it rn fuck off into the sun.

Tbc: I do not care for it for either voice acting or writing with intentionality. Both require creativity and nuance Ai CANNOT achieve. But as long as they're paying the writers properly to make the training datasets, I think it is a tool that CAN be used.

Creating mindless variations of simple dialogue which doesn't seem AS repetitive.

The ultimate problem is that this stuff is A. Regurgitating training data that is very often stolen, rather than training data the company paid to create, and B. They're so focused on "look at us, we implemented a full chat bot in our game!" Rather than limiting it to what it's good for:

I'm sorry, but *fuck* that. The final film is VERY flawed, but the emotional core of it was Scott/Cassie and Hank/Hope. And with that large a heist cast... it (mostly) works for Oceans because you have a cast of A list actors. Ant Man was never gonna pull that kinda talent.

Like, from what I understand, the movie would have had like 10+ characters in Scott's heist team, would not have had anything to do with the mcu at all, had no mention of Janet, Hope was a bit character, and Scott would have started as a full on criminal to give him a better arc.

That being said, whichever toy line (Marvel Legends, Figuarts, Mezco) wants to put out Spider-Byte in 1:12 scale, I need it.
